In the Seinäjoki area, leisure activities and events for young people are organized in youth centres and club facilities located in different neighborhoods. More information about the youth centres is provided by the youth workers at the centres and the youth office. Follow the opening hours on the facilities' own social media channels. Welcome to join the activities!

At the youth centres, there are common principles in effect that aim to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

  • Substance-free. Activities at the youth facilities of the City of Seinäjoki are always substance-free. Bringing alcoholic beverages into the centres or their premises is prohibited. All incidents will be reported to guardians.
  • No smoking. Smoking is not allowed on the youth centres’ premises. Bringing tobacco products into the centres is also prohibited. The use of snus and energy snus is also prohibited in the youth centres.
  • Energy drinks. Energy drinks may not be consumed or brought into the youth centres.
  • Behavior and safety. At the youth centres, we respect youth workers, other young people and the centre’s property. This ensures that everyone can enjoy themselves and feel safe. If a young person has behavioral problems that cannot be resolved through discussion, they may be asked to leave the centre.
  • Youth workers. There are always at least two adult youth workers present in the youth centres. They are either youth work professionals or students in the field. Youth workers are there for the joys and the tears, as well as friendships and conflicts. They aim to support and encourage young people in self-directed activities and gladly welcome young people’s ideas and thoughts for developing the activities.
  • Contact between home and the youth centre. Youth centre workers will contact home if a young person has difficulty following the rules. It is also desirable that parents or guardians contact the youth workers if they have any questions.
  • Breaking the rules. If a young person breaks the youth centre rules, we will primarily try to address the matter through discussion. If discussion does not help, other measures include asking the young person to leave the facility or imposing a temporary ban. If rule-breaking occurs repeatedly, we will contact home.

In addition, each youth facility has its own site-specific rules and practices that everyone must follow.
