Special youth work
Special youth work is part of the youth services of the City of Seinäjoki.
Special youth work is intended for young people aged 13–17.
In the region of Seinäjoki, there are two special youth workers available for you. You can contact us directly about anything that may be on your mind. These matters can relate, for example, to leisure time, relationships, school, home, or substance use. In confidential discussions and meetings, we work together to find ways to move forward.
We collaborate with other local service providers with the young person’s best interests in mind. A key strength of special youth work is that we can meet young people in their own environments. Encounters take place on the streets, in schools, in educational institutions, and in the midst of everyday life.
Supporting young people in challenging life situations is carried out through discussion and practical activities. Important goals include strengthening young people’s self-esteem and developing emotional and social skills, both through individual and group work.
Our office is located at Keskuskatu 32 L, 1st floor. From the beginning of May 2026, you can find us at the new youth meeting place JOJO, at Valtionkatu 1. We usually answer phone calls during office hours (8:00–16:00). Emails, text messages, and WhatsApp are available around the clock, and we aim to respond to all inquiries by the next working day at the latest.
