Cultural Club

Cultural Club is a place to enjoy each other’s company and try out different cultural activities. The themes vary from month to month. Participation is free of charge and does not require any prior knowledge or registration. All meetings are held at the Kalevan Navetta Art and Culture Center (Nyykoolinkatu 25, 60100 Seinäjoki).

September 23, 1:00–2:30 p.m. Circus Jam to the Beat of Disco Hits

Event venue Hugo, 2nd floor

Let’s move creatively in the whirlwind of the circus! In September’s culture club, we’ll explore different circus props together and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere to the beat of the best disco hits. Circus is suitable for all ages, and these feel-good exercises help develop balance, body language, and expressiveness, among other things.

October 21, 1:00–2:30 p.m. Dream Map Workshop at the “Head in the Clouds” exhibition

Pedatila Itikka, 2nd floor

In October, we’ll be dreaming big as the Kalevan Navetta cultural club explores the art exhibition on display at Pedatila Itikka. We’ll craft together and create our own dream maps. All necessary materials will be provided on site.

November 18, 1:00–2:30 p.m. Forms of Heritage – Guided Tour and Workshop

Starts in the lobby of Kalevan Navetta.

J.P Köykkä’s We’ll explore J.P. Köykkä’s solo exhibition Forms of Heritage currently on display at the Kunsthalle, where the boundary between painting and spatial architecture blurs. After the guided tour, participants will have the opportunity to create their own collage artwork.

December 4, 3:00–5:00 p.m. Beeswax Painting at the Independence Day Pre-Party

Pedatila Itikka, 2nd floor
Let’s try some inspiring and surprising beeswax painting together. The necessary materials and two irons are available on site.

December 17, 1:00 p.m. K65 Christmas Concert

Event venue Hugo, 2nd floor
An atmospheric Christmas concert that features Paul Elias and Maija Pokela, who will perform both classic Christmas carols and newer Christmas songs as heartwarming duet arrangements. The lineup includes many string instruments, and flutes. Get ready for acoustic folk vibes and masterful ensemble playing!
