Seinäjoki Youth Council is a politically independent official municipal advisory body and the voice of young people. It consists of 24 young people from across Seinäjoki who organize events, influence current issues and express their opinions to decision-makers. The Youth Council cooperates, among others, with local young people, youth services and municipal decision-makers. The Youth Council also has representatives on several committees and on the city council.

New youth council representatives are elected every other year. The elections are open to young people aged 13–20 who live, study or are registered in Seinäjoki. The term of office is two years. The Youth Council meets six times a year in general assembly, and any working groups meet once a month or as needed. In addition, the Youth Council often represents young people in meetings and events of various municipal bodies.
