Harkku is a model for leisure activities that offers children and young people free, meaningful activities in connection with the school day. A wide range of activities are available, including crafts, parkour, volleyball, soccer, games, visual arts, horse riding, circus, architecture, music, floorball, gymnastics, and cooking.

Harkku is a joint project of the the Education and Welfare Department of the city of Seinäjoki and a part of the national Model for Leisure Activities. The main objective of the Finnish model is to increase the wellbeing of children and young people. The aim is to enable every child and young person to have a leisure activity in connection with the school day that they enjoy and one that is free of charge. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Seinäjoki.

The activities will be carried out throughout the school year starting in September, except during school holidays and days off.
