Now that I’ve spent a few more weeks in Seinäjoki, I’m starting to love and appreciate this city more.
As I mentioned in my first entry, I was offered a bike, and now that there is no snow nor rain, I decided to give it a try, and I’m thankful I did. The city is beautiful, and on my first time going out on the bike along with my roommate, we got to see some new places we hadn’t visited yet. Riding around has slowly become one of my favorite ways to explore, it gives you a sense of freedom and lets you discover small corners you wouldn’t normally walk to.

Over the past weeks, I’ve also had the chance to get involved in some really meaningful activities. I did volunteer work at a local concert hall, which was an amazing experience. Being surrounded by music and people who are passionate about it too made me feel more connected to the city.
Another highlight has been participating as a native Spanish assistant in a few classes. It’s been both fun and rewarding to share my language and culture with others. It’s a different kind of challenge, but it definitely has helped me grow and feel more confident with talking in front of new people.
Of course, not everything has been structured activities. Some of my favorite moments have been the simplest ones: going out with friends, biking around without a specific destination or just enjoying the calm atmosphere of the city. There’s something special about how peaceful everything feels here, yet there’s always something new to experience if you’re open to it.
