Daycare refers to early childhood education provided in daycare centres or by family daycare providers. A daycare place can be applied for using the application form available on the City of Seinajoki ‘s website. The application can be submitted electronically or by post.

Every child under school age has the right to early childhood education. Research shows that participation in early childhood education has a positive impact on a child’s development. For children with an immigrant background, daycare also supports the development of Finnish language skills. Daycare provides upbringing, education and care. Children’s language skills develop quickly, and they learn important social skills. In daycare, children have breakfast, lunch and a snack, spend time outdoors, play and also rest.

A daycare place can be applied for through the municipality or directly from a private daycare centre. Daycare is usually provided between 7:00 and 16:30. In Seinäjoki, there is also a daycare centre that provides care for children whose parents work evening or night shifts.
