Employment training

This training is provided by TyöLakeus. You must be an unemployed jobseeker in order to participate in labour market training. Labour market training is training commissioned by the employment authority and planned and delivered in cooperation with educational institutions. In addition to labour market training, you can apply for Rekry (Recruitment), Täsmä (Targeted) or Muutos (Change) training. These are organised in cooperation between the employment authority and employers.

Labour market training offers education that enhances your vocational skills and improves your employment prospects. It may include:

  • initial, further or specialist vocational qualifications
  • parts of qualifications
  • further or continuing education
  • entrepreneurship training
  • integration training

During labour market training you are entitled to unemployment benefits and a daily expense allowance of €9.

Preparatory training for Upper Secondary Education (TUVA)

This training is provided by TyöLakeus. You must be an unemployed jobseeker to participate in the training.

Preparatory education provides you with the knowledge and skills needed for upper secondary studies. You will receive preparation for vocational education or general upper secondary education.

Each student progresses individually according to their personal competence development plan (HOKS). TUVA offers diverse study methods and individual learning pathways. The studies last up to 38 weeks. It is possible to continue from TUVA to vocational education.

A personal coach guides the training.
