Kessula’s camps
The City of Seinäjoki’s summer camp “Kessula” is Finland’s last municipal summer camp. It was founded in 1960. Kessula is located in a splendid spot on the shore of Lake Kuorasjärvi, in Sääskiniemi, Alavus.
Every summer Kessula organizes camps for local children and young people. The camps last three to five days and are divided by age groups, from 1st–2nd graders up to lower secondary school age. The summer camp is called the whole city’s summer cottage — and for good reason. We offer children and young people the opportunity to spend a relaxed and safe summer with traditional summer activities: sauna, swimming, rowing, games, crafts, playtime, and lots of other interesting programs at every camp. Tasty food is served five times a day.
Daily camp activities are run by a team of summer employees made up of students in the field together with professional kitchen staff.

We recommend registering in the system well in advance of the start of the registration period!
Registration
The person registering in the system must be an adult guardian who registers their underage children for courses. The user account is stored in the system and can later be used to register for other sports, youth, and cultural services offered by the city.
Registration in the system is done using strong Suomi.fi identification. When you log in for the first time, an account will be created for you. After this, you will also receive a username and password that you can use for future logins. You must renew your Suomi.fi identification periodically in order to be able to reserve all facilities and products available in the system.
Please tick the box “I want to receive service-related notices by email” if you wish to receive course information and notifications about changes or possible cancellations. All communication related to groups is sent via the course booking system.
Course fees are invoiced, which is why your personal identity number and address must be provided during registration.
Enrolment
Go to the Courses menu. Select the search criteria and click Search. A list of matching courses will appear below. Click Course details for the course you want. More detailed information about the course will open on the screen. You can enrol in the course by clicking Enrol in course. The button will only appear once the enrolment period has begun.
If you are enroling a child in a course, select Enrol another person and add the name, and enter the child’s date of birth in the additional information field. Remove the check mark next to your own name. Only then click Enrol in course. You can enrol all added persons at the same time if they are attending the same course. If you accidentally enrol yourself as well, you can cancel the enrolment via the My account menu.
Cancellation
Participation in a course can be cancelled independently in the system before the enrolment period ends. Open My account and select Course enrolments. There you will see the courses you are enrolled in, waitlisted for, or paying for on behalf of others.
By clicking Course details, you can view the course information and cancel the enrolment if cancellation is still possible through the system. If the final cancellation date has passed and you wish to cancel your participation, please contact the director or deputy director of the summer camp by phone.
