Seinäjoki is in the Heart of Events
Seinäjoki, the regional centre of South Ostrobothnia, is, together with Buenos Aires, one of the world's leading Tango Cities. The Tangomarkkinat Tango Festival, the biggest summer event in Finland every July, attracts annually more than 100 000 people to dance, to listen to their favourite artists and to crown new Tango royals. For Seinäjoki, tango is not just a separate summer event, but new things are constantly being built on the basis of the rhythm of tango.
In addition to tango, Seinäjoki also hosts annually Provinssirock, the biggest rock festival in Finland. Provinssirock - The Party of the People - opens the Finnish festival summer for 32th time on June 18th - 20th 2010. For three days, a huge amount of people will visit Seinäjoki city, and they all enjoy music, art, Finnish summer and above all - company of the others. The location, the beautiful Törnävä Manor Park, and the Seinäjoki River running through the festival site creates a very special atmosphere.
Vauhtiajot - Race & Rock, the legendary street race was revived after a break of 20 years.This car and motorbike racing event, indisputably the biggest in Finland, also brings foreign racing categories to Seinäjoki.
Moreover, numerous smaller events all the year round add to the charm of the city. There is always plenty to do for families with children as well as for the elderly, not to forget the young people.
