Lakeuden Risti church, Cross of the Plain (1957-1960) and Parish Centre (1965-1966)

The competition for the design of Seinäjoki church took place in 1951, but the construction did not take place until 1957-1960. The adjacent congregational centre was constucted during 1965-1966. The church seats 1200 people, the gallery an additional 124 and the small chapel 50 people. Everything also in the interior including textiles and the glass painting was designed by Alvar Aalto. At the base of the cross bell tower there is Aalto´s scultpure "At the Well of Life". Height of the bell-tower 65 m.
