Land Use Planning and Urban Planning
The aim of land use planning and urban planning is to allow, through planning, the creation of living environment that is well-functioning, healthy, cosy, as well as of a high level in cultural and aesthetical terms.
Land use planning contributes to a coherent urban social structure and strengthens the emergence of the city centre.
In accordance with the Land Use and Construction Act, the Land Use Planning Department is in charge of devising, developing and modifying a master plan and a city plan, as well as of planning the immediate surroundings and the cityscape, connected with land use planning. It also provides information about matters related to land use plans and urban planning.
