Welcome to Study in Seinäjoki!

The student health care units look after the health of the students who attend educational establishments in Seinäjoki. Our aim is to contribute to the students’ welfare, and to improve their health and future ability to work. When you consult student health care professionals, your matters are treated in strictest confidence.

The student health care services cover the upper secondary schools (Seinäjoen lukio, Etelä-Seinäjoen lukio, Nurmon lukio and Ylistaron lukio) and other educational establishments in Seinäjoki.

Student health care is mainly preventive care. Each first-year student is invited to an appointment with the school nurse. In these meetings, a student’s health, matters related to studying, and the life situation in general are being discussed. The aim is to improve a student’s health, to strengthen his/her positive resources, to support his/her self-confidence and, when needed, to guide him/her onward e.g. to a medical doctor, a physiotherapist or mental health care services. The nurse is also in charge of students’ medical treatment and first aid.
