Health Centres of Seinäjoki

First aid and on-call health care is meant for patients who need immediate assessment or treatment, which cannot be postponed without endangering a patient’s safety. Examples of such cases are accidents and acute illnesses. See: On-call and Emergency Services.

In other, less urgent cases, you have to make an appointment with a health centre doctor either by making a telephone call or by visiting the reception desk at the health centre. The primary place of care is the client’s own health station which is determined by the his/her area of residence, i.e. in which area or district he/she lives in. Furthermore, the central area of Seinäjoki is divided into three smaller areas. You can inquire about your own area at the reception desk of the health centre or over the telephone +358 6 425 5111. Appointments with a nurse are free but consultations with a health centre doctor are charged. There is either an annual fee or single payments for adult consultations. Children under 15 are treated free of charge. Children under school-age are treated and examined mainly in child clinics, and when a child starts school s/he becomes a client of the school health care.
