Water for household consumption

The municipal health protection authority regularly controls the quality of the water supplied by waterworks. A control sample programme, paying attention to all the risk factors in the vicinity of the eater intake plant, has been established for all the waterworks supplying water for household consumption to more than 50 people. Samples are regularly collected in different parts of the network. Water for household consumption shall comply with the quality requirements and recommendations of Decree 461/2000 of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The quality of water for household consumption is controlled with regular samples at smaller waterworks, too.

The waterworks is primarily responsible for the quality of water supplied by it, and its responsibility is to inform the users of water of possible quality problems. Health inspectors provide information about the quality of water supplied by waterworks.
