Services for the Disabled

In order to facilitate the quality of life of the disabled, services such as transfers, interpreter services, and sheltered housing are provided when a person does not obtain services suiting him / her or benefits by virtue of other law. As supporting measures, costs for employing a personal aid or carrying out renovation work in apartments (facilities, equipment and household appliances) are reimbursed. 

Special care for the handicapped

Special care for the handicapped is provided for a person whose development or mental activity has been retarded owing to a congenital disease or handicap, or one acquired at the age of development, and who cannot obtain the services they need by virtue of other law.

The services of special care for the handicapped include rehabilitation guidance, adjustment training for the handicapped and their families, a clinic for the handicapped, the handicap policy (medical examinations and rehabilitation, speech, occupational and music therapy), providing permanent or temporary care, family care and a nursing home.

Subsidy for caring for a close relative

The subsidy for caring for close relatives is a fee paid to a person providing care to an aged, handicapped or chronically ill person at home. The amount of the fee is defined in a Care and Service Plan, made with the carer and the caree. An agreement on the subsidy for caring for close relatives is made between the municipality and the carer. In addition, the carer’s holidays, the duration of the care and the cancellation of the agreement are defined in the agreement.
