Seinäjoki as a School City
The educational needs of the inhabitants are met by diversified, high-quality educational supply, ranging from preschool education to adult education. The baseline is the principle of lifelong learning.
In basic education, pupils are offered education and instruction observing their individual needs in neighbourhood schools. In addition to the acquisition of good basic knowledge and skills, emphasis is laid on a diversified language programme and a wide supply of practical and arts subjects.
On the basis of a wide and diversified supply, an upper secondary school student is able to devise their individual study plan. Upper secondary schools and vocational schools participate in a joint school network, the supply of which covers almost all secondary education provided in Finland.
Education after the comprehensive school and the upper secondary school is the responsibility of Vocational Education Centre Sedu and multidisciplinary Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.
