Music

Seinäjoki is a city of music of all kinds. Big events add their flavour to the summer in the city.

The Seinäjoki City Orchestra is active in giving concerts and cooperates with the Music Institute and the Vaasa City Orchestra. In music education, the Sibelius Academy provides strong expertise in Seinäjoki. Basic instruction in music is provided by the South Ostrobothnian Music Institute, established as early as 1936. Instruction in rhythm music and related events is the responsibility of Rytmi-instituutti and the Selmu Association for Living Music.
