Rural services

The City of Seinäjoki and the Seinäjoen seudun elinkeinokeskus SEEK (Seinäjoki regional economic development centre) public enterprise have managed the rural services in the municipality of Kuortane and the town of Lapua since 2011. From the beginning of 2012, the municipalities of Ilmajoki and Isokyrö have also joined, after which Seinäjoki became the largest area to manage rural services in Finland. Currently (in 2013), the number of farms under this management is 2249*: Ilmajoki has 412, Isokyrö 300, Kuortane 219, Lapua 540 and Seinäjoki 778 (* farm businesses which have submitted an application for subsidies).
